Project Overview : 

A multinational OEM in the metallurgical industry, providing solutions for both ferrous and non-ferrous sectors, secured an order to supply spares for a steel manufacturing plant in India. The scope of work included:

• 3,000+ components, distributed across multiple subcontractors 
• 50+ Purchase Orders (POs)
• 12 subcontractors (new and existing vendors)
• 8 manufacturing locations

Given this scale and distribution, maintaining alignment across vendors and ensuring delivery timelines required a proactive and disciplined approach to expediting.

Project Challenges

Even at the planning stage, several inherent risks were visible:

• New vendor exposure: Critical orders were awarded to first-time vendors with limited execution history, making early risk assessment difficult and increasing the likelihood of downstream delays.
• Limited Visibility Across Locations: Vendors were spread across Karnataka, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Haryana, creating gaps in consistent progress tracking. 
• Inconsistent vendor performance: Some vendors had a history of poor on-time delivery, introducing execution uncertainty.
• Capacity and Planning Misalignment: Initial schedules did not always reflect actual shopfloor capacity, increasing the risk of unrealistic timelines.

       Venwiz established a structured supply chain expediting framework across all vendors and purchase orders from the very beginning. This combined platform-driven visibility, on-ground validation, and centralized coordination to ensure execution stayed on track.
